Bitbrain introduces HomeLab for at-home Sleep Research

October 27, 2026
Presented at Sleep Europe 2026, the new solution combines wearable EEG, remote study management, and automated sleep analytics in a single platform.
As sleep research expands beyond traditional laboratory environments, new solutions are needed to support high-quality data collection in home settings.

At Sleep Europe 2026, Bitbrain introduced HomeLab, a complete hardware and software solution designed for remote sleep studies.

Built on Bitbrain Ikon Sleep EEG, the system combines EEG, photoplethysmography (PPG), and inertial sensing (IMU) within a participant-friendly workflow that includes guided setup and real-time signal quality verification.

Bringing sleep studies into the home without sacrificing data quality or researcher oversight.

HomeLab provides remote monitoring of participant progress, adherence, and study alerts through a cloud-based platform. Designed to support longitudinal studies, the solution enables data collection across multiple nights while giving researchers visibility into participant activity and recording integrity.

Its guided workflow allows participants to complete recordings independently at home, reducing the effort required without compromising data quality.

Standardized outputs include automated sleep staging, spectral power, heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), body position, and movement metrics. Both processed insights and raw physiological signals remain accessible through open formats such as EDF, CSV, and JSON.
