María López Valdés Recognized as “Influential Woman of the Year” in Aragón
López Valdés studied Mathematics at the University of Zaragoza and later earned a PhD in Computational Engineering, followed by an MBA from IE Business School. In 2010, she founded Bitbrain, a neurotechnology company focused on brain monitoring and brain–computer interfaces. Bitbrain’s products are widely used in neuroscience investigation and practical human-behavior studies, supporting applications in cognitive science, neurotechnology, and human–machine interaction. Its wearable EEG and biosignal systems enable the analysis of brain activity, attention, cognitive workload, and user engagement across both research and practical contexts.
What began as an academic initiative in Zaragoza has evolved into an international reference in neurotechnology, applied in analysis, healthcare, and industry.

The accolade recognizes not only entrepreneurial success but also a professional trajectory that connects science, technology, and worldwide relevance. During the ceremony, María López Valdés expressed surprise and emotion at the recognition, reflecting the concept of influence and its everyday presence in society.
She emphasized that influence should be understood as a shared and continuous responsibility, shaped by how people interact and contribute to their environment.
The Third Edition of the Aragón Influential Women Awards aims to highlight professionals shaping society across fields such as science, business, culture, and communication. In this context, López Valdés represents a trajectory that demonstrates how scientific innovation developed in Aragón can achieve international reach without geographic limitations.
